Make no mistake; if this is a minivan, it’s a luxury minivan. The $56,700 base price is heady enough, but if you want stuff like heated rear seats, rear DVD players, navigation, media interface and rear climate controls, you will need to add some individual options and/or an equipment packages at Mercedes-Benz prices.
Our tester included the Premium Package ($4,900), which throws on some of the above items plus voice control, hard drive, SD memory slot, passive blind spot assist, keyless start, 115V power outlet and a HUGE two-pane sunroof.
Combined with the aforementioned Sport Package ($2,600), and the rear view camera option ($480), our tester topped out at $64,680.
Conclusion
But if you’re lucky or industrious enough to shop in this segment, and need this kind of people move capacity, the R-Class remains an intriguing choice.
