Q: Cool looking interior. How is it?
A: It’s no exercise in excessive space, but the colour-matched décor and generous equipment levels make it a nice place to spend some time. The loaded tester got a great Rockford Fosgate stereo, sunroof, heated leather, navigation, Bluetooth and more.

Rear seats are best left for smaller passengers due to limited headroom—though the front perches deliver a commanding driving position and should prove adequate for all but the tallest occupants. I did wish for more covered storage and a slightly quieter ride inside, though.

A loaded Juke SL AWD, like the tester, will relieve shoppers of about $29,000. (Photo: Justin Pritchard/Auto123.com)

Q: Is it fun to drive?
A: Incredibly. In fact, it’s almost enough fun to make drivers forget the flying robotic Koi-fish fascia up front. Juke goes like stink when pushed, steers like a Mini Cooper, handles like a WRX and delivers nearly unlimited thrills when pushed hard. This drivetrain wouldn’t feel out of place in a sports car.

Q: How much?
A: Basic pricing starts around $20,000, and a loaded Juke SL AWD, like the tester, will relieve shoppers of about $29,000.
