Towards the end of the steep grade changes and narrow esses, the Cayenne's brake pedal had lost some of its firmness. I was surprised by this but then again, these driving conditions are more akin to rallying and not tracking. Here, periods for the brakes to cool were few and far between. Importantly, they never failed!
The Cayenne's cabin is luxuriously appointed, not a surprise. The centre console comes straight from the Panamera with a number of minor tweeks such as the one for the suspension and AWD settings. The dashboard is smart-looking. In the twisties, the Cayenne's firm, supportive and sporty seats did an admirable job of keeping driver and passenger in place.
Although the drive was fairly short, it displayed in no uncertain terms what the Cayenne can do. And it can do lots! I'm very much looking forward to my next opportunity at driving the Cayenne as I'm certain that it can be as civilized as it can be an incredibly persuasive performance SUV.
