Those are sufficient figures to propel the front-wheel-drive tC with surprising gusto whether or not it’s fitted with the 6-speed manual gearbox that’s supplied as standard equipment or the optional 6-speed automatic transmission.

The manual gearbox is a sweet shifting unit that’s easy and precise to operate; it definitely injects an extra dose of sportiness into the coupe. The automatic transmission worked well during my testing but it’s not a race-inspired autobox. There are no shift paddles or rev-matching functions to take the tC to the next level competitively—still in all, it’s a car that can inspire and thanks to a performance-tuned exhaust note, it sounds the part.
Strong and predictable on its feet
I had the opportunity to push the tC to its limits on an autocross track, and found it to be a highly capable machine. The most notable aspect of the tC’s handling ability was, for me, the ease in which it made its way around the track. The car is a joy to push hard due to its balance and responsiveness combined with its predictable and forgiving nature.
Wrapping the tC
Despite its inherent athleticism, the tC delivers a pleasing ride that doesn’t punish occupants the way some competitors in this segment tend to. The tC brings many attributes to market in a unique and novel manner that’s sure to attract the tech-savvy and those that excel in the wireless world.
