In the end, the Highlander Hybrid’s true rival may just be its 2.7-litre, four-banger counterpart. Said counterpart is less powerful (187 hp) but also 200 kg lighter. And, especially, $11,000 cheaper. And yes, it does burns 30% more fuel, but you’ll have to travel quite a long ways with a Highlander Hybrid to recoup the purchase premium. Food for thought.
