I think the RAV4 actually represents something for Toyota that they've been needing for a while. There's something slightly youthful about the RAV4 (maybe not in the drab silver color I had) that's sure to attract “cooler” buyers to the brand. Corollas and Camrys sell well, but to the same consumers all the time. The RAV4 stands to change that buyer and update the Toyota crowd slightly.
So, while I thought I knew and understood the RAV4 and its place in Toyota's line-up, I've come to realize that I was a bit mislead, and I'm rather glad I got the chance to reconnect and rediscover this Japanese crossover.
