Getting the Sportback Right
Just the facts
The A7 really impressed me. Audi has gotten everything “right” with their foray into the latest craze in sedan variation. The sleek A7 looks absolutely sensational, and it’s actually practical, thanks to a power-operated rear hatch that provides unhindered access to a commodious cargo hold. Folding rear seats further enhance the A7’s Costco capability.

In addition to aesthetics and practicality, the A7 is a sweet performer that’s adept at coddling one moment and inspiring the next, seamlessly transitioning between the two paradigms.

And of “fares,” the fare for ownership begins at $68,600. (Photo: Rob Rothwell/Auto123.com)

Can I find negatives? Well, a couple of minor blemishes at worst; rearward visibility isn’t the greatest and depending on road surface, the low-profile Yokohamas deliver more road noise than desired to the otherwise tranquil cabin.

Some folks may also find the four-occupant limitation to be unworkable for their needs; others may find it beneficial. One thing is for certain—no complaints will be heard from the three lucky fares.
