At the 2012 M-Class world launch we covered two weeks ago, Mercedes-Benz said that pricing for their mid-size SUV would be announced at a later date, but shouldn’t change much compared to the 2011 edition.
Well, prices are officially out, and they lied; the new M-Class is actually cheaper by a few thousand dollars.
The 2012 ML 350 4MATIC, powered by a 302-hp, 3.5-litre gas V6, will start at $57,900 before taxes, freight and delivery charges.
As for the 2012 ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, equipped with a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 good for 240 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, it will start at $59,400.
Both versions are $4,500 cheaper than their 2011 equivalents, but are more powerful, more fuel-efficient and, well, newer.
The new M-Class models will arrive in dealerships next month.
