The highly anticipated 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV – already the recipient of numerous awards even before it is commercially available, and the subject of a recent Auto123.com road test – can now be ordered at dealerships in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. It will be made available in the rest of Canada over the coming 12 months.

Base price for the new model has been set at $42,795 plus transport fees. Various available government incentives (for example, $8,600 in Quebec, which is applied after taxes and includes a discount for installation of a recharging station at home) will allow consumers to acquire a 2017 Bolt EV for as little $31,434 – the price in Ontario, which offers the greatest incentives.

The 2017 Bolt EV promises a range of 383 km, which is more than that offered by most electric vehicles currently on the market. To illustrate the strong interest the model has generated, by February 2016 over 100 clients had already reserved their Bolt at Bourgeois Chevrolet in Quebec, and that number has surely been dwarfed since then.

Awards already given to the new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV include:

  • Motor Trend – Car of the Year
  • Car and Driver – On 10Best list
  • Car Connection – Best Electric Car, Best Htachback
  • Le Guide de L’Auto – Best New Car of the Year
  • Green Car Reports – Best New Car
  • Green Car Journal – Green Car of the Year
