No time to relax in the back seat…

Once again, Jaguar Land Rover demonstrates its flair for putting on original, even spectacular events for its new product launches. After introducing the Land Rover Discovery on an immense bridge made of LEGO, and presenting the all-new Jaguar E-PACE pulling off a record-setting barrel roll, the company has lifted the veil on the new 2018 Jaguar XJR575 – the top performance dog in the newly updated XJ lineup.

In the first video included here, you can watch as the car accelerates to its top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h) in 44 seconds, just time enough for TV hostess and race-car driver Amanda Stretton to ask a few rapid-fire questions to Wayne Burgess, Director of Jaguar’s Production Studio and SVO Projects.

The new Jaguar XJR575 features a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine and generates 575 hp – hence its moniker. This represents 25 extra horses compared with the current XJR, and together with the 517 lb-ft of torque it takes the car from a stop to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds.

Its design is made striking and unique by the presence of, among other elements, special badging, twin air intakes on the hood, red brake calipers, 20-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, bespoke tread plates and diamond-quilted seating.

We’ll be giving you more details on the 2018 XJ lineup as they become available over the coming months.
