At the 2007 Montreal International Auto Show, a small Quebec company named G-2 introduced its new E-Volution model, a sort of electric sports car on three wheels which is motivated by a 26-kW electric motor entirely designed and built in Quebec.

The E-Volution can cover 285 kilometers with the sole power of its lithium-ion batteries. Its performance figures can make traditional carmakers scratch their heads: 0-100 kph in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 180 kph. All this is achieved without producing any air or noise pollution. The vehicle delivers incredible thrills during accelerations and tight turns. In fact, the name of the company refers to the 2-g force achieved while accelerating.

Since the E-Volution is a ready-to-mount vehicle, its chassis can be purchased for $18,785. As for the electric powertrain, you have to add $20,000 to get it and have it installed. G-2 also offers nine different engine mounts, which allows you to install any other type of engine -- a 1,000-cc motorcycle engine, for instance.
