4:45 PM - Acura has introduced its second version of the RD-X Concept to the Auto Show.

The RD-X will be built in Ohio and be made available to the public as a 2006 model. The brand hasn't made a final decision on which engine will actually power the crossover vehicle, however they say it will develop at least 200 horsepower, which means they could potentially serve it with the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder unit currently found in the TSX.

The RD-X does not share a platform with any other Honda vehicle as it is all new. It will feature the SH-AWD all-wheel drive system first introduced in the all new RL sedan launched late last year. A portion of the equipment fond in the RD-X concept include an Acura navigation system, AcuraLink satellite communication and paddle shifters on each side of the steering column. The flooring is made out of rosewood and will certainly not make it to production.

The RD-X is 7 inches shorter than a MDX and therefore fits nicely in the compact luxury SUV market.

Also present is the RL A-Spec Concept. It sports a complete set of trick custom skirts, a lip spoiler on the trunk lid, enlarged front fenders, 20" chrome wheels and Brembo brakes. There are no indications concerning engine modifications.
