Acura's TSX will enter the 2009 model year larger, more agile and more stylish than the previous generation vehicle. TSX will be positioned as a 'desirable and affordable car for entry-premium car buyers', and compete largely with the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Lexus IS.

The new-generation Acura TSX was debuted at the 2008 New York International Autoshow, and features a makeover that lends the car a meaner and sharper look as well as a refreshed cockpit.

"The new 2009 TSX speaks clearly to the direction we are taking our Acura sedans in the future," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of Acura auto sales, "The TSX is a significant step in the advancement of our sedan lineup and the continued enhancement of the Acura brand."

The latest model will start with an MSRP of $32,900 when it goes on sale this week. A new 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine generates 201 horsepower (with the manual transmission) and produces usable power over much wider a rev-range than the old model- addressing a common complaint.

TSX spins the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic with shift paddles. No optional engine or all wheel drive system is available.

A premium package adds leather seating, XM Radio, a USB audio jack, HID lighting and fog lamps, while the technology package adds a 10-speaker stereo, navigation and a rear-view camera. A comprehensive breakdown of pricing and packaging is listed below.

$32,900 - TSX (6-speed manual transmission)
$34,200 - TSX (5-speed automatic transmission)
$36,200 - TSX Premium Package (6-speed manual transmission)
$37,500 - TSX Premium Package (5-speed automatic transmission)
$39,000 - TSX Technology Package (6-speed manual transmission)
$40,300 - TSX Technology Package (5-speed automatic transmission)
