Entertainment giant Sony today revealed details of a virtual race car designed and built using real technology issued from Formula 1. And it's really fast!
The X1 Prototype is the racing car design in a world where racing car design is no longer limited by regulations.
Created by Polyphony Digital, working at Red Bull Racing's workshops in Milton Keynes, UK and the team's chief technical officer Adrian Newey, the result goes far beyond just a startling new look.
"If the performance of special test driver Sebastian Vettel in a shakedown is to be believed, the driving experience, available exclusively through Gran Turismo 5 on PlayStation 3, will be unbeatable," says the press release.
The video gives a very good idea of what the race car would look like in real life, complete with the fascinating sound of the engine!
