What has become painfully obvious is that car manufacturers are very reticent to introduce a number of diesel vehicles in their showrooms. At the moment, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW possess the most advanced diesel technology in the World. The argument usually hovers around the perception that diesel is for inexpensive cheap cars and that it would lower the core value of the brand. Our friends at Transport Canada are struggling with this on a daily basis. Our suggestion is that they (Merc, BMW and Audi) should cooperate and each launch a new diesel vehicle at the same time. Fortunately, Honda has very recently announced that they will be introducing diesel-powered vehicles on our market in the very near future. Hopefully, this will get the ball rolling.
