Polesitter Jonny Cocker made the show in the last four laps of the American Le Mans Series race held this Sunday, in Road America. From fourth to first in four laps, he only needed two turns to turn momentum into victory alongside Paul Drayson.

Klaus Graf settled for second place, 1.051 seconds behind the no longer expected winner. The Porsche RS Spyder that Timo Bernhard and Graf shared simply ran low on fuel, allowing Cocker to be 6.295 seconds faster than the latest on the last lap of the race.

David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud took the final available podium spot, 4.915 seconds behind the winners. With two events remaining and only 50 points left to collect, the drivers still own the top of the championship standing.

In LMPC, Gunnar Jeannette and Elton Julian won a third race this year, finishing 21 seconds ahead of class pole-winner Luis Diaz (Ricardo Gonzalez).

Joey Hand and Dirk Müller gave their BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team a second straight victory in GT in their BMW M3 GT. Patrick Long and Jörg Bergmeister finished second in their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta followed in their Corvette C6.R.

Long and Bergmeister are still leading the GT class championship by 18 points with Hand and Müller now in a tie for second alongside Jaime Melo and Gimmi Bruni, sixth in Road America.

In GTC, Tim Pappas and Jeroen Bleekemolen took a fourth class victory in five races in their Porsche 911 GT3, increasing their lead in the championship standing. Galen Bieker and Robert Rodriguez settled for second place, one lap behind the winners. Vic Rice and Shane Lewis placed third.

The American Le Mans Series is set to return next weekend, on August 29 in Mosport, Ontario, for the second-to-last race of its 2010 season.
