Hyundai, a company justifiably renowned for offering a ton of stuff for the money in its recent models, does it again with the 2020 Sonata sedan. Wards pointed to the sheer volume of tech and other goodies included with the product, namely ambient lighting, a Bose premium audio system and a ton of drive assist systems.

Some of the best features are included from the base model on up, while others kick in as you climb the trim ladder. Either way, the Sonata compares favourably with rivals in the segment.

Both the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch central display screen were found to be impressively vibrant in their graphics and quick in their response times, plus they’re actually pleasant to navigate through.

Highly comfortable, ventilated seats do their part to make front-row occupants’ lives more pleasant as well.

Wards liked the clean layout of the central console, the space freed up by having the transmission shifting handled via buttons on the bottom of the central console and the high quality of the finishing. Jury member Dave Zoia summed the 2020 Hyundai Sonata up thusly: “Solid value and good aesthetics overall.”
