Kia Seltos
It shouldn’t be too surprising to find several brand-new models on the Wards 10 Best UX list; after all, these are the most modern models on the market, and there hasn’t been time for owners (or media) to find warts that show up only after prolonged use, or when vehicles start to age.
In any event, here we have Kia’s spanking-new small SUV, which sits in the Korean automaker’s lineup just above the popular little Niro. And according to the folks at Wards, the brand’S engineers basically “nailed it” with the Seltos.
It starts with the bold looks and even bolder price point, but the experience really comes into play when you get inside. Here Wards gave kudos to the Hyundai-Kia group’s impressive infotainment system, one of the best in the business.
The roster of included equipment is also impressive given the price category the Seltos sits in. There are the usual items, and then there are things like a Sounds of Nature app that creates a certain vibe via music, sounds and graphic effects on the centre touchscreen (you can choose between Snowy Village, Lively Forest, Calm Sea Waves, Rainy Day, Open-Air Cafe and Warm Fireplace). Accent lighting that pulses to the rhythm of the music is not new in the industry, but it’s fun to see it in an affordable, “practical” crossover.
The Seltos also made the list on the strength of its multimedia system’s user-friendly interface, 8-speaker Bose audio (400 watts), and drive-assist systems that help the driver more than irritate them.
