Top 10 Compact SUVs in Canada in 2018 An Embarrassment of Riches

4— Chevrolet Equinox / GMC Terrain

The Equinox has always been a force in this segment, its sales figures generally strong. A word of warning, however: good numbers don’t necessarily mean it was the best choice! The model introduced at the beginning of the 2010s was improved enough for it to keep pace, but only just. Finally, the automaker got it right last year when it rolled out the most recent major revision of the Equinox. How right? Sales of the model jumped by 27.3% in Canada (and a whopping 55% in Quebec). These kinds of numbers usually apply to some obscure model whose sales “exploded” from 12 to 19 units. Not here: 24,446 of the SUVs sold in Canada (3,524 in Quebec alone). Though just to keep it in perspective, that’s only half of what Honda and Toyota move of their CR-V and RAV4, respectively.

Here's our review of the 2018 Equinox , and our review of the 2018 Terrain .
