The German automaker changed its approach in 2018 when it enlarged its Tiguan to satisfy a North American audience in need of interior space. Trouble is, they also deadened the driving experience, squeezing much of its European-ness out of it. For 2022, however, VW has regained at least part of the ground lost, with improvements made to the vehicle’s on-road behaviour.

Still longer than its European version, the North American Tiguan is redesigned for 2022, plus it gains 4Motion all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

As is often the case with these mid-cycle redesigns, the equipment is more generous on this version, which can even be ordered with a third bench seat to help out on occasion.
