6 — Acura Integra
Integra is one of the most recent old nameplates to clamber back on stage for an encore. But from the moment the new iteration appeared, it has found acceptance very, very difficult. The problem is that the Integra was a special and unique model in the Acura universe. A hatchback version was produced and the performances it delivered were distinctive.
Now, Acura gives us a sedan that is essentially a dressed-up version of the Honda Civic Si. The new Integra is the continuation of the ILX that we've known for several years. If on the whole, it's far from a bad vehicle, the decision to use the name has rubbed many old-timey fans the wrong way.
At the same time, between you and me, no matter what eventually happens, a vehicle that bears the Integra name has a better chance of making its mark than one with a name as unexciting as ILX.
