2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e – 40 km of range
Though the GLE was redesigned for 2023 and the US got the 450e PHEV version then, it’s taken the German manufacturer until 2024 to deliver the 450e to Canadian dealers. Available only as a “wagon” (other models have a 4-door coupe version), the model offers power rated at 381 hp and 325 lb-ft, fed to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Range is a claimed 40 km, which is lower down the scale on this list. You could see that as the trade-off required to supply the expected extra features such as top-quality leather, dual digital displays, air suspension and so on.
Meanwhile, the 450e is one of the only models on this list that gets DC fast charge capability, which can take you from 20- to 100-percent charge in about 10 minutes.
