4) Subaru Crosstrek
The Japanese manufacturer has become a master in the art of “raising” vehicles. After the Outback with its solid record of success, the Crosstrek has become a crowd favourite in it own right, despite it being essentially an Impreza with higher ground clearance, a roof rack and more aggressive tires.
Last year there were 15,184 Crosstreks sold in Canada. South of the 49th parallel, Subaru USA recorded 131,152 sales - not at all of them in Maine and Vermont, though sometimes it feels that way.
