The wait shouldn't be too much longer for the next Civic, especially as Honda has already shown the outline of the future generation of its venerable compact sedan. Indeed, Honda is known for unveiling prototypes very close to the upcoming production models.

But while we know that a hatchback next-gen Civic is on the way, we also know that a coupe is not – it won’t be back. Expect the return of the existing 4-cylinder engines, as well as an Si sedan and a Type R based on the hatchback body.
