The fledgling American automaker has already made a lot of noise (quietly, of course) with its Air sedan. But Lucid Motors faces the same unavoidable reality confronting all companies in the trade: it needs to produce an SUV, as soon as possible, if it wants to successfully implant itself on the automotive landscape, especially in North America.

The Lucid Gravity will have the Tesla Model S and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV in its sights when it’s added to the brand's lineup later in 2023 or in 2024.
