Before replacing its DBS model, Aston Martin is launching a last hurrah version: the DBS Ultimate. Only 100 or so will be made, 30 of which are expected to head for the American market.

Their will be a coupé version of the Ultimate, and a cabriolet version, the Volante.

The machinery under the hood stays unchanged. The Ultimate will therefore be propelled by the same 6-litre 517-horsepower V12 as the one found in the "standard" DBS, which propels the car to 100km/h from a standing start in just 4.3 seconds and can continue all the way up to a top speed of 307km/h.

Where it changes is in the looks. The Ultimate will come either in carbon black or silver grey, and feature black rims that allow a glimpse of the yellow, black or red callipers – to the customer's taste – to shine through.

Inside are some black Alcantara leather-wrapped seats with carbon-made dash and centre console.

Price is still undetermined but should rise above the US$268,660 of the base model.
