Audi and Chrysler come to an agreement over ad

When Chrysler first debuted their Eight Mile Style LLC ad during the Super Bowl earlier this year, the world was impressed. Finally, one of the Big Three was making a major comeback in a way that was right up their Detroit-bred ally. The ad featured Eminem and made quite the statement; it also launched their “Imported from Detroit” tag line.

Then Audi came out with an uncannily similar ad (and we wrote about it here). Well, Both LLC and Eminem were less than pleased with the Audi spot, so the dispute began.

Well, Detroit charities and the Eight Mile Style LLC (Eminem's licensing company) have emerged victorious from the debate. Audi stated that they have tremendous respect for both Eminem and Chrysler and would never do anything to harm or insult either. Terms of the settlement were not released, however, Audi has said that it will “support the revitalization of Detroit by contributing to selected social projects.”

Despite the Audi ad never airing in the USA, it has reached the 2-million-view mark on YouTube.
