Audi Canada has announced it has signed a multi-year agreement with Major League Soccer (MLS) and will be its official partner in Canada. The carmaker will also team up with MLS to create the Audi Player Index, which will track where play is taking place on the field, and the position of each player on the pitch at any time during a game. 2,000 player movements and 86 separate game components will be compiled to create a detailed dynamic score for each player.
For Audi the latest agreement is an extension of its longstanding involvement in the sport on a global level. The company already partners with prestigious European clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
