Audi unveils two diesel-engined Q7 models (VIDEO)

As Audi believes that the trend towards diesels is gathering strength in North America, the Q7 will be available with V12 TDI and 3.0 TDI engines.

The 6.0-liter V12 TDI offers a staggering output of 500 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, which allows the Q7 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and reach a governed top speed of 250 km/h.

This impressive performance is achieved thanks to a new emissions-control technology, which Audi has developed with their experience in racing the R10 sports prototype.

A Q7 powered by a smaller, 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine with Bluetec technology is also in the works, which should reach showrooms at the end of 2008.
