The stakes were high and there was plenty of action on the weekend of May 26 to 28. The Circuit du Mont-Tremblant held its annual Spring Classic. The attraction of this event is the coming together of many different classes of racing. Including the Hankook Touring series, in which our in-house racer Nigel Heron participates, we could watch the GTO/GTU/GTX series run,

The Friday included two practice sessions for the racers to get re-acquainted with the track. Saturday started off with a qualifying session that saw Nigel place 11th. He had been complaining of a soft brake pedal and had been trying to find the source of the spongy pedal. A replacement brake master-cylinder was installed to no avail. In the afternoon race, Nigel finished tenth after a long struggle with Etienne Chabot.
Sunday morning, Nigel and his crew changed the brake pads on his 1997 Integra with the hopes of improving pedal feel. The result was positive however, the pedal would still travel too far. In the morning qualifications, Nigel positioned himself with the thirteenth best time. The final session took Nigel where he so far seems to be very comfortable, in tenth place.
So far, after three races, Nigel has positioned himself as a runner-up in the race for Rookie of the year. The next event takes place at the Sanair Motorsport Complex on July 8th.
