Former Formula 1 driver, Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi has signed with Rocketsports for the 2008 Champ Car season.

The 29 year old competed in Formula 1 with the Arrows team and then went on to test for two seasons with the British American Racing-Honda F1 team. This past year, he competed in Brazil's Copa Nextel Stock Car championship, finishing 12th in the standings while earning two podium results.

Last season, Rocketsports had a dismal year and finished 10th in the championship with Alex Tagliani.

Bernoldi's confirmation means at least six drivers are lined up for the 2008 season - Alex Figgie (Pacific Coast Motorsports), Paul Tracy (Forsythe/Pettit), Graham Rahal (Newman/Haas/Lanigan), Oriol Servia (PKV Racing), Bernoldi (Rocketsports) and Will Power (Team Australia).

In the meantime, Pacific Pacific Coast Motorsports has confirmed that drivers Alex Figge and David Martinez will test for them later this week in Florida.

Last year Atlantic championship runner-up, Franck Perera's future in the series remains on hold. Three teams - Team Australia, Conquest and Forsythe/Pettit - have shown interest but, however, the recent uncertainty over the future of the series may have forced him to delay his decision.
