BMW announced Friday that the benchmark 2007 3-series coupe would be arriving at retailers this September. The 3-series coupe lineup consists of the 328i, 328xi and 335i. Base MSRP is $43,600.

Improvements have been made to many areas of the new 3-series, the most noteworthy being more powerful engines, enhanced driving characteristics, styling, and a structure that allows for more space and comfort. Standard features to each model include run-flat tires, a six-speed manual transmission and sports suspension. All wheel drive is also available for the coupe- a first in its segment.

The latest generation Dynamic Stability Control is now standard on all 3-series coupes, and the system features brake drying, brake standby and brake-fade compensation.

Power for the 328 coupe comes from a 3.0 Litre inline six cylinder with 230 horsepower and 200 lb. ft. of torque- enough to move the 328i from 0-60 in about 6.6 seconds, or slightly longer for the heavier all wheel drive 328 xi models.

For even more performance, the 335i packs a unique power unit featuring direct injection, variable timing and a pair of small turbochargers to develop 300 horsepower and 300 lb. ft. of torque. Drivers can expect 0-60 in about 5.6 seconds, and pricing starts at $51,600.
