The 4-door coupe craze, initiated by Mercedes-Benz and their lovely CLS, is in full expansion. Over the last few years, other car companies, especially high-end ones, have been introducing concepts one after the other. The long rumoured 4-door Porsche Panamera was first and then, Aston Martin unveiled their 4-door Rapide Concept last year. And now, here comes BMW.
The CS uses 7-Series underpinnings and much of its mechanical aspects. The major difference lies in the fact that the CS is much larger in every way, save for height, when compared to the big 7. Although the CS is more substantial, it will only accommodate 4 passengers.
The CS is meant to bridge the gap between BMW and Rolls Royce. It should be successful as it will feature all the necessary luxury touches including a few engines that will produce impressive power. A potential "M" trim could include a 6.0L V12 derived from the M5 and M6's 5.0L V10.
This Concept is also an obvious indication as to where BMW design will be headed in the near future.
