"The unprecedented success of the Pre-Owned section of BMW Canada's website has had much to do with the success of the program over the past year," explains Mike Brennan, BMW's National Pre-Owned Manager. "The site allows customers to search for pre-owned BMWs located at any of the 32 BMW retailers across in the country."
When visitors enter this new section of the website, they have the opportunity to choose specific criteria, such as: Series (3, 5, 7, 8, M, Z3, X5), Body Style (Sedan, Coupe, Cabriolet, Touring), Transmission type (Automatic, Manual) and Price in an effort to narrow the search. Visitors can also narrow the search geographically (kilometers from a postal code or by province) or according to a specific Retailer.
Search results include the model name, year of production, transmission type, kilometer reading, colour, price, and location of Retailer. From here, the visitor can select a vehicle for more in-depth information such as the VIN number, standard and optional equipment on the car of choice, and a link to the Retailer's e-mail.
If the search does not result in a vehicle that suits the specified criteria, guests can press the 'Wait List' button. This function will allow the used car locator to notify them, via e-mail, when a matching vehicle comes available within a 30, 60, or 90-day period.
