BorgWarner acquires Haldex Traction Systems

BorgWarner has acquired HaldexTraction Systems for 205 million USD. This acquisition will allow the company to accelerate its growth in the all-wheel drive market, adding to its large portfolio of automotive solutions.

The Haldex Group is a provider of auto parts and all-wheel-drive systems that works closely with Audi, Volvo and, Ford, to name a few. According to the company’s financial results, the Traction Systems division accounted for 12% of its annual sales figure in 2008.

BorgWarner specializes in sophisticated power train solutions and works with most of the world’s premier automakers, including Volkswagen, Audi, Ford, Toyota, Renault, Nissan, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Daimler, Chrysler, Fiat and BMW.
