As for weather, it was sunny with temperature hovering around 30°C -- not bad for late November. Summer heat is reportedly unbearable over here, something like 50°C!
On Wednesday, November 25, I got back to Europe and its dark, rainy landscape. The following Saturday, I went alone to the Essen Motor Show in Northwest Germany. This show is all about tuning and race cars.
The next day, I had a meeting with the folks in charge of Carrera Germany, which manufactures electric toy car racetracks. It was the German championship final and, as it turned out, two other DTM drivers were also on hand, namely Mattias Ekstrom and Maro Engel.
I love racing these little machines. In fact, I personally own a set in my Strasbourg apartment, which I often use to relax at the end of the day. If you remember, I even took on the French national champion a few days before the DTM race in Dijon… and I beat him!
As I write this, I’m sitting at home in Strasbourg, but I will soon fly to Montreal -- at last! I indeed plan to come back to Quebec, at Montebello’s Omega Park in particular, to celebrate the holidays with my family and friends. I’m very much looking forward to reuniting with everybody for a good party!
Of course, my New Year’s wish will be to enjoy a 2010 season that lives up to my highest expectations!
See you soon!
