Today Thursday was held on the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit the traditional “Open House Day” at the Grand Prix of Canada.

The drizzle did not stop several thousands of F1 fans to walk along the pit lane, see the cars being assembled and look at the mechanics at work.

The lucky few who arrived very early enjoyed seeing the Force India and the McLaren teams run pit stop practices. The fans were amazed to see what it is like to stand just a few feet away from a genuine F1 car during an actual tire change that takes just 4 seconds!

Moments after, the fans were delighted to hear some engines being fired up and warmed up in the garages.

Some teams, like Lotus had the brilliant idea to have one person of the team standing near the fans to answer questions from the fans.

The main event undoubtedly was the autograph session. Hordes of fans showed up and quietly stay in line to meet their favourite F1 drivers. The arrival of reigning world champion Jenson Button created hysteria amongst the female fans, we must admit!

Besides the visit down pit lane in front of the F1 garages, the public will also be able to see the supporting events racecars displayed by teams running at the Grand Prix — the beautiful and powerful Ferraris 430, the Quebec crowd favourite open-wheel Formula 1600 and the Historic Grand Prix cars.
