A race that started last night and that was punctuated with crashes and rain showers has finally ended this Monday afternoon under sunny skies at the newly renamed Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

Though young Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) seemed very strong, it was a very fast Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) who finally grabbed the checkered flag followed by Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) and his teammate Jeff Gordon (Chevy no 24).

Kyle Busch ended up fourth followed by Edwards' teammate, Matt Kenseth (Ford No 17). Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman (Dodge No 12) finished 10th.

Consequently, Newman is now second in the championship, 6 points behind new leader Kyle Busch. Tony Stewart is third, 19 points behind.
