TORONTO — The Canadian Auto Workers union announced today it has established a fund with an initial contribution of $300,000 to be used for projects in support of the families of victims, including Canadian families, of the U.S. tragedy on September 11. The union is urging its locals and entire membership to make whatever contribution they wish to this fund.
We are searching our hearts for ways to help the families cope with a tragedy almost too enormous for words to describe, said CAW president Buzz Hargrove. Contributions can be sent to the CAW Secretary-Treasurer's Office, made out to CAW: Families of the Victims Fund, at 205 Placer Court, Toronto, ON M2H 3H9.
