In order to meet the growing demand for compact crossovers by fleet customers in the United States, Chevrolet will introduce the 2012 Captiva Sport, whose variants are already sold in more than 50 markets around the world.
Similar to the Equinox and GMC Terrain, the Captiva Sport features either a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder Ecotec engine or a 3.0-litre V6 engine – each using direct injection and matched with a fuel-saving 6-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle will be available in LS and LT models, with 17-inch aluminum wheels, XM Satellite Radio, a 6-speaker sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes, traction control, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, air conditioning, power locks and windows, and remote keyless entry all coming standard.
The upscale LT includes the V6 engine (with dual exhaust), OnStar and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Finally, the exclusive LTZ package adds all-wheel drive, a rear-view camera, heated leather seats, a power sunroof and a 10-speaker stereo.
The Captiva Sport will be available for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2011.
