GM will be presenting its concept cars Miray and Colorado Rally in Europe for the first time at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, showcasing the new design language that may be the inspiration for several Chevy products in the near future.

The crew cab Colorado, originally unveiled at the Buenos Aires show, is an imposing machine with an aura of power about it. It features 18-inch wheels, an adjustable suspension with Fox shocks, two 5.5-hp winches built into the front and rear bumpers and a 2.8-litre, turbodiesel engine.

The slate grey cabin includes a fire extinguisher and five-point seat belts hooked up to a safety cage hinting at its tougher-than-nails attitude. It also demonstrates a certain level of sophistication with its textured leather instrument cluster and contrasting orange stitching on the seats.

As for the Miray roadster (Korean for « future »), it’s an interpretation of the large Chevy sports cars of the past, powered by contemporary technology, i.e., two 15-kW electric engines coupled with a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder mill.

A dual-clutch transmission swiftly changes gears while a start/stop system and regenerative braking maximize fuel efficiency.

Its modern, sophisticated looks are highlighted by flowing lines and an original, ergonomic cockpit that will turn visitors heads and no doubt have them hoping the next production model takes a cue or two from the Miray.
