Chrysler has improved its 4-litre, V6 mill in order to increase its fuel economy. The changes bring about a slight power decrease, down from 253 to 251 hp. As for torque, it drops from 262 to 259 ft-lb.
The 6-speed automatic transmission accompanying the V6 has also been revised. The steps between gear ratios have been reduced; the engine's rotation speed drops less during shifting, increasing the gears' flexibility while improving fuel efficiency.
Chrysler says the 2009 Town & Country with 4-litre V6 will be 8% more fuel efficient than its 2008 counterpart. The manufacturer believes these updates will allow the minivan to snatch up the best fuel efficiency ratings in its class.
