Chrysler will debut two striking new concepts at the 2007 North American International Autoshow. The American based automaker released a few sketches of the models for a sneak peak yesterday.
The drawings illustrate two very different models, though both manage to
instantly convey Chrysler's brand presence. The first sketch is of a sleek and futuristic looking four-door coupe, of the same ideology as the Mercedes CLS class. Small, intense headlamp assemblies suggest a high degree of performance, while flanking a traditional, large chrome grill which has become synonymous to the brand.
Chrysler calls the concept the Nassau, classifying it as a vehicle for four passengers with a focus on driving dynamics. The design may hint at a future sedan in the carmakers lineup, though it is of stark contrast to the previously displayed Imperial large sedan. Sweeping curves characterize the Nassau, and a menacing aura is conveyed by its low slung elegance.
The second concept draws on some of the chunky, jagged lines present in
the current Dodge Nitro, though the 7-segment vertical grille and large wheel wells categorize it as nothing other than a Jeep. It's called the Trailhawk, and it is mission is to create a Wrangler type vehicle with a newfound level of sophistication and class more commonly found in upper-line Jeeps.
Classic proportions and visually distinct capability come together with a set of cropped headlamps and a horizontal brow line to give the impression of a bird of prey- thus inspiring the "Trailhawk" name.
Are the Nassau and Trailhawk bound for production? Only time will tell.
