Time has shown that, in general, the lack of power is the biggest beef against Pacifica, and how much that affects you will depend on how aggressively you drive and how much weight you put in the wagon.

Along with the bigger engine, the Touring model also gets 17-inch aluminum wheels, and three-row six-passenger seating. The two rear seats do fold down but not away, so they're still taking up space in the back, and that means less cargo room than the base model unless you remove the third row and leave it behind in your garage.

If you're worried about traction, either for performance or safety, you might want to consider stepping up to the all-wheel-drive Pacifica Touring, at $42,600. This gives you everything you get in the FWD Touring (including the more powerful engine), and premium leather seats. New optional equipment for the Pacifica Touring model includes rear park assist, and 19-inch chrome-clad wheels.

The all-singing, all-dancing Pacifica is the Limited Model, which carries an MSRP of $48,650. It offers standard all-wheel drive, a monochromatic exterior, unique 19-inch chrome-clad wheels, three-row six-passenger seating with an exclusive interior featuring first- and second-row luxury leather heated seats, leather steering wheel and shift knob with genuine wood trim accents, power sunroof, three-row side curtain air bag, next generation multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags, driver-side inflatable knee blocker, occupant classification system, rear park assist, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, power adjustable pedals, power lift gate, four-wheel independent suspension equipped with premium five-link rear suspension, a six-disc CD/DVD changer, and an AM/FM/Cassette/CD radio.

This is a very attractive model and looks more slick and sophisticated than any wagon on the market, regardless of price or label. At 2165 kg, however, the strain in the engine tends to show a little more.

But if you want something classically stylish with strong practicality values, you might want to have a look at one of the four flavors of Chrysler Pacifica.
