The interior of the car does not stand out as much as one would think. Our red tester bore a very simple interior with cloth seats. The only giveaways were obvious R/T letters embroided in the seats themselves. These were comfortable enough though the back seems a little stiff to my liking. Obviously, the rear space was ample enough to accept three passengers in great comfort. I would like to point out that the rear doors are quite large to ease entry but the handle is set too much to the front and that might send the edge of the door into the stomach of the person opening it. But that could be a detail to the performance lover. The dashboard retained its good taste and most knobs and levers were easy to reach and manipulate. I especially liked the white faced dials with black letters. The steering wheel is leather wrapped as is the shift knob. As for the trunk, it surely has more space to offer than older Dodge R/T's of the seventies. Obviously, it would have been great to match up this new generation R/T with a legendary version of the seventies on a race track. I tried. I even succeeded in finding one, a perfect 1971 lime green Charger at the local Friday night street machine event. But the owner did not seem interested into such a challenge. I'd bet that his 440 magnum V-8 would have beat my 3.5-liter tester in a drag race. Probably by a few car lengths. But I believe that at the very first curve of a road course, his antique Dodge would have had to brake heavily long before turning and that is where my tester R/T would have passed his so-called performance car.
