Nasser Al Attiyah is rumoured to develop three buggies car for the next Dakar Rally. Thierry Magnaldi and Carlos Sainz could join him in the team.
Al Attiyah, who won 2011 Dakar rally aboard a Touareg Volkswagen, had to switch to a Robby Gordon’s Hummer in 2012, following VW’s retirement from cross country racing.
For 2013 Dakar, Al Attiyah is set to run his own team with the backing of his sponsor from Qatar, with three buggies powered by a 2WD V8 engine. Former rider Thierry Magnaldi and 2010 Dakar winner Carlos Sainz are rumoured to join Al Attiyah’s team.
