After Carl Haas, who made no secret of his intentions to move over his Champ Car squad to the IRL in 2009, Derrick Walker and his Team Australia /Walker Racing Racing team could also follow to the Indy Racing League grid this year.
Derrick Walker is ready to make the switch and is believed to be negotiating to keep drivers Will Power and Simon Pagenaud and his team sponsor Aussie Vineyards on board for the move.
Walker told American newspaper USA Today: "We're just a small company trying to sell our wares, which for us is getting sponsors and going racing. We had to look at the IRL and the Indy 500."
If Walker's plan goes thru, it will be the latest blow to the credibility of the Champ Car series and its plans for the upcoming season.
