Bruno Spengler, BMW’s recently-confirmed works driver, will test the BMW M3 DTM next week. The 28-year-old will represent the Bavarian motor manufacturer in the tests scheduled for Spain’s Monteblanco Circuit from 15th to 17th November.

Spengler’s appointment for the 2012 DTM season was announced on 26th October. Alongside Spengler, Joey Hand will be given the opportunity to test the BMW M3 DTM.

"We would like to thank Bruno’s current employer Mercedes most sincerely for releasing him early for the tests. We appreciate this sporting gesture, which goes to show how well we co-operate behind the scenes," says BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. "Now we can look forward to his first laps with our BMW M3 DTM, and his initial impressions of the car."

All three manufacturers currently committed to the DTM will take part in the tests, as has happened twice before: at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, and at Budapest’s Hungaroring. The Monteblanco Circuit is situated approximately 50 kilometres west of Seville in southern Spain’s Andalucia region, with its mild climate making it particularly suitable for November tests sessions.

BMW Motorsport will again be testing with three BMW M3 DTMs, with BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW Team RBM and BMW Team RMG overseeing one each. Augusto Farfus and Dirk Werner will also test.
