Hockenheim, Germany - Here we are! After a seven-and-a-half flight from Montreal to Frankfurt on Air Canada, and a one-hour drive in the rental car, I have finally arrived in the paddock of the Hockenheimring, site of the opening round of the DTM series.

Unfortunately, the weather is not great. The sky is grey, it's drizzling and it's only 5 degrees...

The teams are setting up in the paddock. Most German series will kick off their racing season this weekend, including the famed DTM, the Formula 3 Euroseries, the Porsche Carrera Cup Cup, the Seat Leon Supercopa, the VW Polo series.

This is always an extremely popular event with usually more than 100,000 spectators. Indeed, the grandstands are all packed on race day and getting out of the circuit on Sunday takes more than two hours.

Canadian DTM driver Bruno Spengler is very busy with the many technical pre-race meetings. "After having finished twice in second place in the overall standings, my goal is clear, it is to win the title this season."

Action starts at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning with the roll-out of the DTM Series and Spengler. We'll be there.
