Mercedes-Benz has confirmed their driver line-up for the 2010 DTM season. Nine drivers from five countries will race the AMG Mercedes C-Class DTM cars.
Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard and China’s CongFu Cheng are the latest signings for the Mercedes-Benz DTM squad. They both will race 2008-spec AMG Mercedes C-Class cars.
The 2009-spec AMG Mercedes C-Class will be raced by Briton Gary Paffett, Scotland’s Paul Di Resta, former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher and Canadian Bruno Spengler, DTM runner-up in 2006 and 2007.
Susie Stoddart, Jamie Green and Maro Engel will race 2008-spec C-Class cars.
“I am extremely proud to be a Mercedes-Benz driver again this season,” Spengler told Auto123.com.
“This will be my 5th season with the works HWA Mercedes team, and I really look forward to the start of the season. It will be fantastic to meet the fans in Wiesbaden this weekend before heading to Hockenheim for the opening race of the season. My objective is to win the title. The first race will be very important. It will be crucial to score points right away,” Spengler said.
The young Canadian driver also said he has three new partners this season: Scalfaro (Swiss watches), Fitline (fitness products) and Schuberth (crash helmets).
